Jinkee Pacquiao and Paris Hilton: One thing in common By Robbie Pangilinan PhilBoxing.com Wed, 18 May 2011 MANILA, PHILIPPINES - There is more than one thing common between Jinkee Pacquiao and Paris Hilton. American socialite Paris met the wife of the Filipino boxing icon when she watched the Pacquiao-Mosley fight at the MGM Grand on May 8. The two hit it off during the post-fight party at Mandalay Bay. The famed hotel heiress posted, ?So lovely spending time with Manny and his gorgeous wife Jinkee. Such a beautiful couple! Pacquiao Rules!? in her Twitter account. She also posted photos of herself with the couple. Manny told reporters that the two ladies are already ?textmates? and that it is his honor to have Paris as his fan. Jinkee and Paris live posh lifestyles, Jinkee because of the boxing superstar?s unprecedented success and Paris because of being a great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, the founder of Hilton Hotels. Paris is also a media personality, model, singer, author, fashion designer and actress. Jinkee, on the other hand, is also a product endorser, cover girl and a businesswoman. While Paris was born with a silver spoon in her mouth, Jinkee has risen to fame and fortune along with her husband?s success in the ring. The Pac-Wife is used to living in poverty so she is very careful about her hubby?s hard-earned money. She has invested in several businesses, including a franchise of Davao?s BluGre Coffee in the family?s JMP Building in General Santos City, her very own fashion store Jinkee?s Fashion World that carries imported items like clothes, bags, perfumes and Manny Pacquiao shirts and souvenirs. Jinkee also stands as the manager of 10 amateur boxers aspiring to be like the Pacman. Paris is also involved in business. She founded Heiress Records, a sub-label of Warner Bros. Records, has a perfume line, hair extensions products, footwear, and a line of tops, dresses, coats, and jeans. Paris has always been in the limelight. She is ?the celebrity who rises to fame but because of [her] inherited wealth and controversial lifestyle.? Her widely-publicized sex video in 2003 turned her into a superstar. She also had a television series with childhood friend Nicole Richie, a reality show called ?The World According to Paris? and several film roles. She has written her autobiography and a designer diary, and has recorded a music and dance album. Jinkee has not done any of these. In fact, she never got that much attention because she has always maintained a low profile, remaining humble and behind the spotlight. But now, Jinkee is just as famous as Manny emerging as a famous fashionista, jetsetter and endorser. Paris lived in several exclusive homes, including a suite in the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in Manhattan, Beverly Hills, and the Hamptons. Jinkee and Manny have eight houses, including a mansion in General Santos City, a big crib in Los Angeles, and a newly constructed one in Sarangani. This year, the couple plans to purchase a P300-million house in Forbes Park, a private subdivision in Makati City where some of the country?s wealthiest families live. While Paris has been involved in a number of legal incidents, including driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving, driving with a suspended license, overspeeding, and drug possession, Jinkee has always been the goody-goody type of girl. She is a devout Catholic and a law-abiding citizen. In relationships, Paris has jumped in and out of affairs while Jinkee has remained true and loyal to Manny, despite controversies that threatened their marriage. She is a dedicated mother of four children. Hilton is planning to visit the Philippines for Manny and Jinkee, as well as to start a business here. She would love to go to Boracay with the Pacquiaos. Paris is definitely world-famous and is living her life to the full, but Jinkee certainly has more depth. She is, after all, a ?woman of substance,? according to People Asia Magazine. # Click here to view a list of other articles written by Robbie Pangilinan. |
