WBE/USBC Asia Pacific Boxing Association Join Forces With the ZUEL University of China PhilBoxing.com Mon, 13 Feb 2006 The WBE/USBC Asia Pacific Boxing Association is proud to officially announce its cooperation with the Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL) of China will make history by hosting the first Asia Pacific boxing historic "Asia Pacific Professional Boxing Training Course" in April 2006 in the Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL), Wuhan City of the People's Republic of China. This training course will be for one week. The purposes of the training course are to enlist and train eligible professional boxing Administrators, Promoters, Managers, Ring Officials, Ringside Physicians and Trainers for the Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Chinese Taipei and make them effective implementors of safety measures for the protection of prize fighters and the sport of boxing in general; to expand the development space of professional boxing in the Asia Pacific region; to encourage more qualified Chinese Administrators, Promoters, Managers, Ring Officials, Ringside Physicians, Trainers and Enthusiasts of professional boxing to work under the aegis of WBE/USBC Asia Pacific Boxing Association; and to strengthen the WBE/USBC Asia Pacific Boxing Association in the Asia Pacific region together making the WBE/USBC Asia Pacific Boxing Association stronger, more powerful, more prestigious regional boxing governing body. It is hoped that the event would encourage more Chinese corporate sponsors, television networks and fans to actively participate and support the development of&nbs p;the sport of professional boxing in the Asia Pacific and Chinese regions. Last February 9 in the Wuhan City of the People's Republic of China, the Chairman/Director of the WBE/USBC Asia Pacific Boxing Association, Mr.David Young, together with its Chairman of the Membership Committee, Mr.Qing H. Wang, met the ZUEL's Adult Education College President, Mr.Xie Jin Cheng and its Secretary Mr. Xin Zhong Xiao. The parties discussed the development plan of WBE/USBC Asia Pacific Boxing Association in China. WBE/USBC Asia Pacific Boxing Association Chairman/ Director David Young happily stated, "We would like to support and assist the ZUEL's Adult Education College to develop the professional boxing industry of China. I believe that the future of the Chinese professional boxing sport should attain similar success as the Ping-Pong sport of China. I'm looking forward to see the ZUEL Adult Education College become a successful pioneer of the professional boxing industry of China." For its part, ZUEL's Adult Education College President, Mr.Xie Jin Cheng, and its Secretary, Mr.Xin Zhong Xiao, positively stated, "We would like to assist in the development of the professional boxing in China, and to always cooperate with the WBE/USBC Asia Pacific Boxing Association in China. Together, we make Chinese professional boxing gain a huge success." One key towards realizing this ambitious objective is to ignite the latent lov e for boxing in such places as Mainland China, Hongkong, Macau and Chinese Taipei, and such countries where professional boxing is still asleep. This interest for boxing is now being kindled in these places by the Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL) of China. A Brief Introduction to ZUEL Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL), composed of two c ampuses, one of which lies at the foot of famous Yellow Crane Tower, and other borders beautiful South Lake, is a higher learning institution under the Ministry of Education of the People??s Republic of China with economics, law, and management as its core disciplines, coordinated with the development of eight other disciplines including literature, history, philosophy, and engineering, etc.. The predecessor of the University was Zhongyuan University founded in 1948 by the Central China Bureau of Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party with Deng Xiaoping as the First Secretary. The Second Secretary Chen Yi was the director of the preparatory committee of the university. After fifty-seven years of devoted labor of the stuff, the University has cultivated more than 200,000 students and has made great contribution to the construction of socialist modernization of ou r country. Zhongnan University of Economics and Law comprises School of Humanities, School of Economics, School of Finance and Taxation, Xinhua School of Banking and Insurance, Law School, School of Public Security, School of Foreign Studies, School of Journalism and Mass Media, School of Business and Administration, School of Public Administration, School of Accountancy, School of Information Technology, as well as School of MBA, School of Intellectual Property Right, School of Further Education, and Wuhan School. The University owns full-time teaching and administrative staff of 2179 members, including 1,173 teachers, among which thee are 205 professors, 429 associate professors, 65 doctoral supervisors. The University has 1 key research base of humanities at the state level, 2 key disciplines at the state level, 4 key research bases of humanities at the provincial level, 15 key disciplines at the ministerial and provincial level, 34 undergraduate programs, 41 master programs, 24 doctoral programs, and 3 post-doctoral programs. The University is also authorized to confer MBA, EMBA, JM, MPAcc, MPA, ME (Master of Education) degrees, and enrolls students from overseas as well as from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao. It also enrolls approximately 19,000 full-time undergraduates, 4,200 postgraduate students, doctoral students, post-doctoral students, and 11,900 adult and part-time students. Zhongnan University of Economics and Law covers an area of over 3,100 mu (about 207 hectares), and has a combined floor space of 750,000 square meters. Beautiful and spacious campuses of the University are shaded by rows of green trees, where flowers blossom and birds sing. Since the year 2000, in order to meet the needs of modernized education for rearing students in good surroundings, the University has quickened its pace of construction and strive d to build Shouyi Campus and Nanhu Campus into Classic Campus and Garden Campus respectively. The highlight of the campus is the newly built Yifu Library finished in 2004, which has the combined floor space of 25,600 square meters with more than 2 million books and is one of the best libraries among the universities of our country. The modern stadium with a stand of 30,000 seats which is of the highest grade and the largest in scale among the universities of our country successfully hosted the Finals of the Year 2003-2004 Philip College Men??s Soccer Tournament of China. Wenlan Building and Wenbo Building located beside Xiao Nanhu Lake have become the landmarks of the Nanhu Campus. The completion of Foreign Experts Building, Complex Building for Colleges and Departments, International Exchange Center, and the Administrative Office Building marks the prosperity and vigor of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law. The University has a group of learned scholars with academic prestige in the academic world of finance, economics, and law, home and abroad. More than 40 teachers enjoy the expert allowance of the State Council of China, and more than 20 teachers have been awarded the title of Young Experts of Hubei Province with Prominent Contributions to the Country with expert allowance. Recently, the faculty has accomplished 375 items of key research projects at the state or provincial level, among which 150 items were the projects of the State Social Science Fund, State natural Science Fund, and key project of the Ministry of Education, 87 being the key projects sponsored by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Justice. In the fields of international academic exchange, the University has developed a worldwide cooperative research and academic exchange relationship with the universities and research institutions of more than 20 countries and regions in Asia, Europe, the America, and Australia.
