Colin Lynes, Luke Campbell And Many More On Steve Bunce?s Show This Thursday
PhilBoxing.com Thu, 17 Feb 2011
Come back kid, former IBO Light Welterweight World Champion, Colin Lynes and European Gold Medalist Luke Campbell join a host of stars on this coming Thursday?s edition of The Steve Bunce Boxing Hour - BBC Radio London 94.9 between 8-9pm on Thursday 17th February 2011.
On Saturday Colin made his long awaited return to the ring, against Bradley Pryce, on the undercard of the excellent John Watson-Anthony Crolla vacant British Lightweight title clash.
Clearly the underdog, not only was this his first fight in the Welterweight division but Bradley was championship ready having prepared to challenge Sam Webb for his British Light Middleweight belt until the fight was called off, surprised most observers by not just holding his own but actually dominate two thirds of the rounds to earn an against the odds 77-76 points victory.
Whilst Colin was enjoying success in Liverpool Luke Campbell was a little further afield, in Debrecen, Hungary, hard at work against local favourite Krisztian Nagy in the final of the Bocskai Memorial Tournament .
Luke turned a 1-0 deficit at the end of the first round into a one point lead at the end of the second with four sumptuous scoring shots.
In the final round Luke gave a boxing masterclass, scoring four more points, to secure the win by a tidy 8-5 margin.
Colin and Luke join a veritable who?s who of British boxing as the man himself, Steve Bunce, explains. "It's a packed hour! Frankie Gavin, Lenny Daws, Ashley Theophane, Tyson Fury, Robin Reid, John O'Donnell, Craig Watson, Mick Hennessy and a few more. It's a busy week.
Colin and Luke had great wins and deserve a slot.
I will also reflect on Gary Mason's funeral."
Steve Bunce?s Boxing Hour goes out on BBC Radio London every Thursday between 8-9pm on BBC London 94.9, online live on BBC iPlayer.
Steve?s exciting thriller ?The Fixer? has recently been reprinted and is available now on-line at Amazon.com and all good bookshops, RRP. ?9.99.
