MILAN ?EL METODICO? MELINDO AT THE CROSSROADS

PhilBoxing.com

Cebu City, Philippines. Milan ?El Metodico? Melindo of the Philippines is scheduled to face Colombian former world champion Carlos Tamara as the main feature of the mega boxing card ?PINOY PRIDE 2? at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino on November 27, 2010.

Melindo is undefeated with 22 wins with 7 via short route. The young Filipino who is at the crossroads of his young career is presently in the final stages of his preparations for what is expected to be his toughest test to date.

The confident and methodical fighter from the famed ALA Gym who is currently campaigning at the flyweight division is very confident of his chances against the former Colombian champion. He said ?I have prepared so much for this fight because I am fighting someone with a champions heart but I believe this is my time and I have worked so hard to get to where I am now. I am not going to let this chance pass me by and I will do whatever it takes to come up victorious when fight night ends.?

Tamara, the U.S. based Colombian is currently training in New York City in the U.S. sports an impressive record of W21 (KO15) L 5. He is no stranger to the Filipino boxing hungry nation as he was the fighter who rallied back and defeated one of our Filipino champions Brian ?The Hawaiin Punch? Villoria in Philippine soil.

?El Olympico? as Tamara is called was supposed to hit the City of Cebu a week before his fight with Melindo but decided to finish his training in the United States. Team Tamara is expected to be in the Queen City of the South before the Official PINOY PRIDE 2 event.

The Melindo vs Tamara match-up is guaranteed to be an action packed fight as both fighters have different motivations going back up the ring. The highly ranked Melindo who is a very hungry fighter who believes his time has come and Tamara who wants to regain his top spot in the division. That surely is a formula for one sensational battle.

PINOY PRIDE 2 is an ALA Promotions and ABS-CBN Sports presentation. It is also supported by the Cebu City Government, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, SM City Cebu, International Bar Complex, Sports Exchange Bar and Grill and the official PINOY PRIDE station Y101 FM Always First.
