Maniatis, who hosts a popular boxing show on Channel 31 in Australia, said that the television program has just celebrated its 150th episode and he is looking forward to having some Filipino fighters see action on the shows.
The Aussie promoter, who also received the Russell Sands Commitment to Boxing Award, is set to arrive in Cebu in mid-January following a two-week trip to the United States which includes a visit to Freddie Roach’s Wild Card Gym.
"l will travel to America and the Philippines looking for a boxer to sign up, l am looking for a future world champion, and who knows l could find him in the Philippines" said Maniatis
"l will call up Bruce Mctavish when l arrive in the Philippines to help me find my next star boxer. Bruce is an expert when it comes to picking a fighter, but the bottom line l have to like the look of the boxer,” added Maniatis, whose next promotion is in February and has already lined up 6 big promotions for 2006.
