MICHAEL FRANCO PULLED FROM "S?LO BOXEO TECATE" CARD DUE TO TORN RETINA

LOS ANGELES (August 20, 2010) - Due to a torn retina suffered in the final stages of training for his originally scheduled bout tonight against Mexico City's Adolfo "El Terror" Landeros, unbeaten featherweight prospect Michael "Little Warrior" Franco of Riverside, California, has been forced to withdraw from the contest and will be sidelined for four to six weeks.

"I'm really disappointed that I couldn't fight tonight," said Franco. "I'll be ready to go in six weeks and want to fight as soon as possible."

Stepping up to the "S?lo Boxeo Tecate" main event slot at Casino Del Sol in Tucson, Arizona will be unbeaten Filipino phenom Mercito "No Mercy" Gesta (18-0-1, 8 KO's), who risks his perfect record against Mexican veteran Genaro Trazancos (22-11-1, 13 KO's) in an eight round junior welterweight bout.

In co-main event, Landeros (19-14-1, 9 KO's) gets another tough challenge in Nogales Sonora, Mexico's Noe Lopez (5-5, 4 KO's) in an eight round junior lightweight bout. Also in action will be hot Ghanaian prospect Abdullai Amidu (14-0, 12 KO's) as he takes on Mexican veteran Cristian Favela (18-28-6, 9 KO's) of Los Mochis Sinaloa, Mexico in a welterweight six rounder.

Rounding out the undercard action will be a four round super middleweight bout featuring Pahoron Gastellum (2-1) against Steven Macomber (3-9-1) of Lakeside, California and Tucson middleweight Kevin Riding-in (1-1) taking on Phoenix's Kenny Curtis (0-1).

Gesta vs. Trazancos and Landeros vs. Lopez headline a night of world-class professional boxing presented by Don Chargin Productions and Golden Boy Promotions and sponsored by Cerveza Tecate. TeleFutura's "S?lo Boxeo Tecate" will be broadcast at 11:30pm ET / PT (10:30pm CT). Doors open at 7:00pm PT and the first bell rings at 7:30pm PT.
