By Rene Bonsubre, Jr. PhilBoxing.com Tue, 20 Jul 2010

WBO interim light flyweight titlist Johnriel Casimero continues his light training in Los Angeles for his July 24 (July 25 A.M. Phil. Time) defense against Mexican southpaw Ramon Garcia. The 20 year old Casimero (14W-0L, 8 KO?s) doesn?t do any sparring anymore and his present weight is 110lbs., just 2 lbs. over the limit.
Team Casimero is staying near the Wild Card Gym together with Federico Catubay, who will figure in a junior bantamweight voluntary elimination fight against another Mexican, Rodrigo Guerrero. Catubay is on target with his weight at 117 lbs.
Both will still do the light training until Tuesday and on Wednesday July 21 the team, composed of trainers Christopher ?Pingping? Tepora and Danny Bactol, will depart from LAX to Hermosillo then to Los Mochis, Mexico.
The 27 year old Garcia (12W-1L, 8 KO?s) hold the WBC international lt. flyweight belt. He is listed in boxrec.com as Ramon Garcia Hirales and is the brother of former IBF minimumweight champion Raul Garcia, who dethroned Florante Condes of the Philippines.
Promoter Sammy Gello-ani informed that GMA 7 will broadcast the fight in the Philippines. Casimero vs Garcia will be held at the Polideportivo Centenario, Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico.
