Rumble at Rama Boxing Events at World Level By Socrates Celestial PhilBoxing.com Tue, 22 Jun 2010 The Boxing Industry in Canada boasts of a rich history with monumental bouts such as George Chuvalo versus Muhammad Ali. In the Toronto area, the sport is observed and practiced on many levels from the modesty of the amateurs to the grandeur of the pros. Many great Canadian pugilists are enriching the sport today such as locals Troy Ross and Sandy Tsagouris. Now Toronto is displaying the interest and competitiveness in the market on a world level. One such individual responsible for this rebirth of boxing in the area is Boxing promoter and head of Orion Sports Management, Allan Tremblay. Mr. Allan Tremblay has been behind the latest stir from the events being held at Casino Rama. For the past several years the promoter has brought top-level boxing to the Toronto area, featuring up and coming boxers and title fights recognized on an international stage. His hard work has forged a rekindled interest in some aficionado's and gained the attention in first time fans. Mr. Tremblay is also the promoter of two time IBF world champion Steve ?The Canadian Kid? Molitor who has been successfully featured as the main at Casino Rama for several years now. In his more recent events Tremblay has been attaching himself to the Filipino community and has featured Filipino boxers such as Marvin Sonsona, Ciso Morales and Ana ?Hurricane? Julaton. He has recently signed a two-year contract with the female boxer Julaton, (current IBA title holder and former WBO super bantamweight champ) as her main promoter in the Canadian circuit. Julaton is titleholder that brought dynamic energy to the ring last March and promises to be one of the most historic female fighters in Boxing history. Her level of skill in the ring and professionalism outside the ring complete her prowess. The other notable significance of this signing is a change in Julaton?s camp. Coach Freddy Roach will be working with Julaton again and corner her next fight. Roach has cornered Julaton in most of her fights and proven to be successful as her Coach and corner man. The two have already starting training and look pristine in unison. Roach is also the head trainer and coach of Filipino pound-for-pound King, Manny Pacquiao. He will be replacing Coach Nonito Donaire Sr. According to Julaton?s manger Angelo Reyes, Donaire Sr. is now looking to revitalize his son?s career Glen Donaire (former WBO Asia Pacific flyweight title holder). The fighter is coming off a loss to Ulyses Solis and hasn?t fought since that time in June of 2008. The father-son boxing combination is common in the Boxing industry and in the Donaire family. The coach introduced to the sport, the current IBF super flyweight champion and fifth ranked pound-for-pound fighter Nonito Donaire Jr. His father has not coached Donaire Jr., younger brother to Glen, for the last several years. On June 30th, 2010 at Casino Rama, Tremblay will host another stellar event, Rumble at Rama XII: Current Canadian Heavyweight Champion Neven ?No Surrender? Pajkic vs. Former Champion Greg ?Steel Pole? Kielsa II, a highly anticipated title rematch between two Canadian Heavyweights. It will also showcase Julaton in a title match with Mexican Maria Elena Villalobos. Both female fighters are working off a loss and the significance of this fight will push one fighter forward. This may mean a rematch between Julaton and Lisa Brown. A fight that fans and Allan Tremblay hope to see soon. Rumble at Rama XII will be promoted by Orion Sports Management, in association with Casino Rama. Tickets for Rumble at Rama XII are $125, $75, $50 and $25 and are available in-person at the Casino Rama Box Office, and at all TicketMaster locations, by calling (416) 870-8000 and online at www.casinorama.com.
