Rumble at Rama XII ? Ana ?The Hurricane? Julaton in Title Fight

PhilBoxing.com

Toronto, ON ?Orion Sports Management held an official press conference for the Toronto and the Filipino media and community from Aristokrat BBQ Restaurant announcing details for Casino Rama?s event ?Rumble at Rama XII? set for June 30th, 2010. The return of Super bantamweight fighter Ana ?The Hurricane? Julaton (6-2-1, 1 KO) was announced as the co main event of the evening. The Filipino American phenom is a world-class fighter, holding two belts and vying for a third for this upcoming event. Mexico?s Maria Elena Villalobos (6-3, 3 KO?s) was announced as Julaton?s challenger for the vacant WBO Super Bantamweight World Title. Both female fighters are coming off a 10 round loss in very tough title fights with top-level contenders. A win for either one of these pugilists means a possibility for another title match in the near future.

Promoter Alan Tremblay made mention of the event?s under cards revealing new prospect Mexican Danny Flores, the return of Felix Mercedes and the debut of Heavyweight boxer Artem ?The Russian Tank? Lipanov. His opponent will be former Toronto Maple Leafs enforcer Nathan Perrot (1-1, 1KO). Allan Tremblay also confirmed the presence of four-time celebrated Trainer of the year, Coach Freddy Roach in Julaton?s corner. Roach has cornered Julaton for her first six fights.

Angelo Reyes, Julaton?s manager, was ecstatic with his teams return to the Toronto area and is grateful to the boxing fans for their continued support. He is guaranteeing a great show with ?nothing but fireworks?. The game plan is ?to have Julaton become the first Filipino unified fighter, male or female. Even Pacquiao himself is an undisputed champion, but not a unified champion?. Provided Julaton wins, she will have the opportunity to stage a rematch with Lisa Brown, which they admit to being the fan favorite, or Argentinean Marcela Ariana Acuna. Both Brown and Acuna are titleholders in the Super Bantamweight division. Julaton?s camp is hoping to have either competitor fight in the Philippines, thus possibly creating a possibly trilogy with either opponent. Reyes went on to enlighten the media that this is the first time that a female fighter is being Nationally televised from Canadian Soil, and a Filipino fighter additionally. Both co-main event and the main event of will be televised on TSN at prime time hours, another first for Canadian Boxing.

Julaton spoke and showed great appreciation for the support from her countrymen in the Toronto area. The female boxer explained the differences with coaching styles of Nonito Donaire Senior and Freddy Roach. ?While Donaire focused a lot on footwork, Roach?s focal point relies on forward aggression and angled offensive.? Julaton feels she can benefit from both philosophies and plans to bring an integrated style into the ring. Fans hoping to observe great boxing and witness the mega popular Freddy Roach will split the audience. It will be his first time to the Toronto area. Julaton explains ?Roach feels that I need to go back to my aggressive style and rely more on jabs, throwing them in three?s and fours.?

This reunion of Roach and Julaton will prove its level of excellence within the coming weeks to the fight. Canadians in the Toronto area will benefit the excitement of having a title war between the top five contenders in the woman?s Super bantamweight division displaying one or more title bouts on a Toronto stage. Promoter Tremblay is expecting a presence by the Filipino community in support of Julaton, and has even gone to certain measures to ensure an attendance will exist at the event by reserving tickets through specific Filipino vendors that gives ample opportunity for Filipino fans to attend and support Ana Julaton at Casino Rama.

Rumble at Rama XII will be promoted by Orion Sports Management, in association with Casino Rama.

Tickets for Rumble at Rama XII are $125, $75, $50 and $25 and are available in-person at the Casino Rama Box Office, and at all TicketMaster locations, by calling (416) 870-8000 and online at www.casinorama.com.
