Ana Julaton recognized by the Governor's office and the State Senate! PhilBoxing.com Thu, 08 Apr 2010 On Monday 4/5/10 Ana Julaton was recognized by the State of California for her efforts in Women Empowerment and continuing to be a trailblazer in the sport of Boxing. Lt. Governor Mona Pasquil (who is the highest Filipina to hold that Position) welcomed our Filipina Warrior with open arms and in rare form Ana Julaton could not fight back the tears as she was overwhelmed by the honor and recognition being given to her. "Growing up as a Filipina and being able to see you make it this far is an honor" said a very tear filled Julaton about the Lt. Governor of California. Senator Leland Yee recognized and presented the current IBA and WBO World Champion for being the first of her kind and a true inspiration in the world today. Senators and other dignitaries lined up to shake the hand and take pictures with our Filipina Warrior Ana Julaton. Julaton got the VIP tour of the California State Capital. Julaton is about a week rested from her recent World Championship War with current WBA Champion Lisa Brown of Canada. Contrary to some writers who wrote that our Filipina Champion was "dominated" by Brown and "Ana would not be able to do a Photo Shoot for a while" is a bit of exaggeration in their tone (mainly from Brown Supporters). Judging from recent events the past few days Ana Julaton looks great and in fact sources say she had a video shoot last Monday and from the looks of these pictures would seem to be in tip top spirits. Luckily for Ana Julaton supporters they can judge the fight for themselves this Saturday when it replays on GMA Pinoy TV. Many who saw the fight including boxing scribe David Avila (a female boxing expert) felt the Judging in Canada was overly biased for the Hometown girl. "Knowing both of their styles it?s nearly impossible for Brown to win almost every round. I?m not saying she didn?t win the fight, but I find it improbable that Julaton didn?t win more than two or three rounds. She is an action fighter and Brown, though she is a good defensive fighter, does get hit. Let?s just say that judges Rocky Zolnierczyk (92-99), Ted Gimza (91-99) and Andre Pasquier (90-100) should not be allowed to oversee world title bouts in the future until they learn a thing or two." stated Avila in his most recent article for The Sweet Science.com.
