PACQUIAO DOES NOT MISS AN OPPORTUNITY TO PLEASE THE CROWD
By Ed de la Vega, DDS PhilBoxing.com Tue, 15 Sep 2009
Beverly Hills, CA: - Top Rank Promotions today brought the “Fire Power” press-con to the Beverly Hills area of Los Angeles, at the Beverly Hills Hotel to be exact.
The “accredited media only” event was needless to say well attended. It seemed that the “who-is-who” in the LA sports press scene was there to cover the event. There were lots of foreign media people and from the Philippines, we spotted Nick Giongco of the Manila Bulletin and Abac Cordero of the Philippine Star. We also saw the lovely Diane Castillejo and good ole’ Ronnie Nathanielz.
There were other guests as well, but the one that stood out so prominently because it’s LA was the newest LA Laker, Ron Artest.
Artest was asked to come to the podium for a photo op.
The presence of Artest at the podium gave Pacquiao an opportunity to be naughty, so to speak and please the crowd as well.
When Artest, Pacquiao and Cotto were asked by the photographers to pose, Pacquiao stood on the chair so he would not be the shortest guy in the photo. That of course brought a healthy laugh from the crowd.
Truly, like the season shown man that he is, Pacquiao never misses opportunities to please the crowd.
What a man!
