“It’s time for TSABZ to shine” Get to know Tanaka Saburi as he retuns March 13 in Perth – Thunderdome 53

PhilBoxing.com

Friday the 13th of March, Dragon Fire Boxing hits the Metro City Arena for the first time this year for Thunderdome 53 with a stacked card.

One of the prospects coming through is Jnr Welterweight, Tanaka Saburi.

Having stole the show on Thunderdome 52, Saburi returns and is ready to put on another great performance.

Lets get to know Tanaka Saburi;

“I started boxing in my early 20s. I came into the sport a bit later than most, but I’ve always believed that if your mindset and work ethic are right, you can catch up quickly.”

“I grew up playing football and, like a lot of kids, I had big dreams — playing for Manchester City or even Barcelona one day. Football was my life growing up, but in my final year of high school I stepped away to focus on my studies. After graduating, I tried to get back into it, but I felt like I’d lost my edge — everyone was sharper, quicker, and I felt like I had two left feet. Boxing had always been in the background of my life. My dad and I used to watch it together since I was a baby. At first, I didn’t join a boxing gym to fight — I just wanted to get fit. I signed up at Cuban Boxing Club purely for the cardio. I was never a violent person and I never wanted to spar. I was happy just doing the conditioning. But once I stepped into the ring and felt the adrenaline of sparring, everything changed. That rush hooked me. From there, fitness turned into passion, and passion turned into commitment. I started sparring elite boxers and I’ve never looked back since”.

“This will be my first international fight and only my third professional bout, so it’s a big step. My opponent is more experienced — it’s his seventh pro fight — and I respect that. But I’ve been working hard, staying disciplined, and trusting the process. I’ve prepared properly for this moment and I’m ready to go in there, perform, and make a statement”.

“More time I appreciate everyone who’s been supporting me from day one. Your messages, energy, and belief don’t go unnoticed. I promise to always give everything I have in the ring. It’s time for TSABZ to shine, and I can’t wait to make you all proud. Goals for 2026 My goal for 2026 is to stay active, keep improving, and continue building my name in the sport. I want to gain experience, sharpen my skills, and move closer to competing at a high level while staying disciplined and hungry”.

Tickets on sale now at megatix.com.au & the event will be broadcast by Livecombatsports.com.au
