UK?s Most Formidable Sportswriter Predicts Pacman by TKO in Round 8th or 9th

PhilBoxing.com

Reporting from HOLLYWOOD, California (April 4, 2009) - It's all-time high here with HBO crew and other news media, Team Pacquiao and teams of sparring partners making the 72 degree celsius at the Wild Card Gym paradoxically warmer than ever as Manny Pacquiao, after the vigorous afternoon training sessions, readies himself to tackle a two-hour exercise with his left hand fine motor skills as he renders his signature on the gloves, T-shirts and photographs that boxing fans from different walks of life present to him.

But, what fortifies the afternoon frenzy is the presence of two journalists from London: Gareth A. Davies - the formidable sportswriter from the Telegraph Media Group - and Robert Jorgensen - the publicist of Sky Sports, the Rupert Murdoch owned satellite TV broadcaster who will facilitate the telecast of Hatton v Pacquiao on pay per view in the United Kingdom.

Davies and Jorgensen have just arrived from London prompting to conduct round-about interviews with the training camps of the legendary Maharlikan hero Manny Pacquiao and of Ricky Hatton, who is currently in Las Vegas, Nevada entering the last quarter of his training with self-proclaimed best trainer, Floyd Mayweather, Sr.

Davies and this Maharlikan Times writer, along with boxing commentator Leoncio Royo, Jr., exchange views and pre-fight analysis about the Pacquiao-Hatton event on May 2 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Beholden to neither boxing camps, Gareth A. Davies brings along with him his invisible crystal ball from the United Kingdom. It reveals to him nothing short of mere speculations. But, he sees from it a see-saw fight between pound-for-pound King Manny Pacquiao and IBO Light Welterweight Champion Ricky Hatton but conversely predicting an inevitable full stoppage in round 8th or 9th.

Asked about how he sees the fight other than his prediction of a late stoppage by Pacquiao, Davies says ?Hatton may dominate Pacquiao in the first three rounds.?

But, "Pacquiao will catch him up and through within fourth to fifth rounds and will clinically land more punches until the eight or ninth round.

But, Hatton, whose only caveat is whether he is more powerful and heavier than the Filipino phenom, "may not get the better of Pacquiao's super-speed and incredible lateral movements - super crablike - striking from different directions naturally which will call situations that Hatton may not be able to hit Pacquiao effectively and may become less effective with his aggressions," he adds.

Nevertheless, Davies does not discount Hatton's great ability to super-impose his power to brawl and his fighting spirit to withstand Pacquio's likely vicious attacks.

"A perfect punch to the body just as what he did to Jose Luis Castillo of Mexico in their WBC International Light Welterweight Championship/IBO Light Welterweight Championship in 2007 which ended by TKO in fourth round may not be a remote posibility," Davies warns.
