DARCHINYAN MAKES BLOODY CANDIES
By Granville Ampong PhilBoxing.com Sat, 07 Feb 2009

ANAHEIM, California ? Brave, talented and unarguably trash-talker, Darchinyan (31-1-1, 25 knockouts) leaves his poison that stokes interest in the minds of the boxing fans.
But, Arce (51-4-1, 39 knockouts) seems so intent dealing his formidable opponent in trash-talking especially when one-on-one interview transpires with credentialed journalists in the final phase of the pre-fight press conference today at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
And so we are told that they are ?special fighters with special powers? all because their intent finds them with some lurking aim. Yet, one promises a knock out and the other a bloodbath encounter.
?Arce is going to be my human pinata,? said Darchinyan, an ambitious Armenian living in Australia who was handed his first professional loss via brutal knock out in the 4th round by Nonito Donaire in July 2007. ?And I am ready to make lots of bloody candies out of his face.?
On the other hand, Arce promises to give Mexico the best fight of my life.?
But, Arce cuts the air of bitter rivalty into a comic flare saying: ?I will give more lollipops for him to suck.?
While Darchinyan holds the WBA, WBC, and IBF belts in the 115-pound category, Arce holds the interim version of the WBA title, which he won on November 1 last year when he knocked out Isidro Garcia in 4th round in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Darchinyan, fresh off of his super flyweight unification victory over Christian Mijares, finally will slug it out with his long-time rival Jorge Arce this Saturday, February 7 that will be televised on Showtime at 7 p.m. Pacific Time.
