Chess tournament goes to Dasmarinas Cavite

The One Cavite Chess Association -OCCA-Gathering Chess Tournament Kiddies U-13 and 14 years old and above category gets underway on June 28, 2026 at Walter Mart Dasmarinas, Cavite.
According to tournament organizer Art Turla, the 1-day chessfest features two divisions with the open champion getting the lion share of P1,000 while the kiddies U-13 category winners will earn P800.
"We do this to promote chess in the grass roots level and to discover future chess talents and champions," said Turla, who is set to compete in the 2nd Bangkok Summer International Chess Open to be held on July 28 to August 2, 2026 at Royal Benja Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand upon the invitation of International chess organizer Nick Cholapat Chongstitwattana.
