Team Altagracia Primus Praedia Land Holding champ in Pacquiao chess By Marlon Bernardino PhilBoxing.com Tue, 21 Apr 2026 Team Altagracia Primus Praedia Land Holding ruled the Manny Pacquiao Chess Philippines 3x3 Tatluhan Chess Team Tournament on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at the Lica Malls 500 Shaw in Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City. Nelson Busa Jr. led the Altagracia Primus Praedia Land Holding chess team to the championship as the Marc Anthony Yabut-coached squad also featured Adrian Perez and Gregorio Amador. Altagracia Primus Praedia Land Holding chess team nabbed five wins and got two draws to top the 52-team tournament. Altagracia Primus Praedia Land Holding chess team received the top prize of P30,000 in this one-day rapid chess tournament, jointly organized by John Salcedo, Jonas Silvano and Kalaro Founder and CEO Jun D. Lasco, supported by former Senator Emmanuel "Manny" D. Pacquiao, the Games and Amusement Board (GAB) Chairman Atty. Francisco J. Rivera and National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) Chairman/President Cong. Prospero "Butch" Pichay Jr. Team Pongi placed second while UG Attack ended up third. Rounding out to the top 10 were Guerrero CK Ingles (fourth), Team Baseek (fifth), AQ Prime Assets (sixth), Team Payaman (seventh), Mind Slasher (eight), RS Team (ninth) and Marina Bas Cafe (tenth). Earlier, Tournament Director John Salcedo and Juzail Maasin (Maasin Builders-Contractor), made the ceremonial moves kicking off the one-day tournament also graced by Cheenie Colinares (Digital Marketing Coordinator ), Kristine Kiwang (Mall Operations Admin), Crystelle Jade Deocariza Creative specialist) and Coach Alfred Miranda. Adjudged category winners were Nelson Busa Jr.( Board 1 Gold Medallist), Adrian Perez (Board 2 Gold Medallist) and Vincent Ryu Dimayuga (Board 3 Gold Medallist). "A successful chess event promoting sportsmanship, unity, and the continuous growth of chess in the Philippines, " said Tournament Director John Salcedo. Meanwhile, the Manny Pacquiao Chess Philippines Exhibition Match Finals will be held on April 26-27, 2026 in Okada, Manila. The Top 4 qualifiers are NM Jan Clifford Labog, FM David Elorta, IM Ronald Dableo and FM Alekhine Nouri.
