OKC Thunder is NBA 2025-2026 Strongest Team

The reigning NBA champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder, are currently the strongest team in the 2025-26 season. Led by reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, they boast a 20-1 record in the NBA, the best in the league as of early December, and remain atop the Western Conference.
OKC's defense is the best in the NBA, reflected in their low points allowed per possession: just 106 points per game. They also recorded 10.4 steals per game and forced 12.4 turnovers, the second-best mark in the NBA.
The Thunder's pressure defense prevents opponents from setting up, risking turnovers or interceptions. Their defensive switches are well-executed, and frequent errors are rare.
Their offense features stellar performances from reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. This season, the number two is averaging 32.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game. At 27 years old, Shai is maintaining very similar numbers to last season. Alexander has scored more than 20 points in 93 consecutive games, the third-best mark in league history.
The OKC team averages 122 points per game and has 11 players who are rotating more than 15 minutes on the court.
