By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Tue, 30 Sep 2025

BANGKOK, Thailand — A Milestone Achievement. At the age of 50, Japanese flyweight Toshihiko Era has written his name into boxing as the oldest man to conquer a world title.
A licensed pro boxer by the JBC (Japan Boxing Commission), Toshihiko Era (28-4-1, 23 KOs) accomplished this remarkable feat by stopping Komgrich Nantapech of Thailand in two rounds of action, securing the vacant WBF (World Boxing Foundation) Flyweight World Title on Sunday, September 28, at the Highland Boxing Gym in Bangkok, Thailand.
The title fight, promoted by Brico Santig of Highland Boxing Promotions, witnessed Toshihiko Era delivered a commanding knockout performance, hugely entertaining fans and the ones watching live.
Alvin S. Go of Cavite City, Philippines, served as the WBF supervisor, while Phillip Player of Australia was the event’s MC.
Passion is Everything
Toshihiko Era's victory powerfully tell us that when passion and dedication fuel a person, age becomes irrelevant.
With his win, Era not only writes his name into boxing, but also inspires us all.
Because passion is everything. And when we have it, nobody can stop us from reaching our dreams
