Noynay loses to Sasaki by TKO in Japan

JOE “Jaw Breaker” Noynay lost by a technical knockout in the 5th round to Jin Sasaki of Japan last night, May 16 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.
The 28-year-old Noynay from Cebu suffered his 4th loss against 23 wins and 2 draws while Sasaki, 22, improved his record to 17 wins with 16 knockouts against 1 loss and 1 draw.
Aside from retaining his WBA Asia Pacific welterweight title, Sasaki also won the vacant Orient and Pacific Boxing Federation.
Noynay hit Sasaki on the body with his left-right punches, but Sasaki retaliated with a left cross that saw Noynay bounce back in the 1st round.
Sasaki allowed Noynay to hit him in the early 2nd round before answering him with his left right punches.
In the 3rd round, Sasaki was again allowing Noynay to him and telling him to throw hard punches. Sasaki them answered back with his favorite left hook against Noynay.
Noynay was hit by an illegal below the belt and had to rest for few minutes in the 4th round. Sasaki then used his left hook again followed by a right to hurt Noynay at the end of round.
In the 5th round, Noynay was in his usual game, throwing jabs against Sasaki who was more aggressive with his left.
Sasaki landed left-and-right punches that hurt Noynay. Sasaki never allowed Noynay to counter anymore as he threw more combinations that downed Noynay near the rope.
Referee Michiaki Someya immediately got hold of Noynay to stop the fight.
