Tandag arnis rules Zubiri Cup

DAVAO CITY – The Tandag City Arnis Club won 13 gold medals in the Zubiri Cup Arnis Kali Eskrima Tournament set last will be March 9 and 10 at the University of the Philippines Sports Complex in Mintal, Tugbok District.
They were Marijo Mandahon, Charlyn Diaz, Ronnel Timogan, Shantal Piales, Zoei Balane, Jackharry Quimson, Angel James Acevedo, Leneth Guimary, James Lucas, Shane Quijada, Princess Roduta, Celia Narajo and Ryan Quimson.
Tagum Sacred Warriors and Black Cat both got nine golds. Third is Alpha DDO and Davao City Arnis also had both with seven golds.
Fourth was Sacred Warriors with six golds followed by Arnis DREMNHS with five.
Alfrench Villegas of Davao Crossers bagged the Senior Advance boy’s welterweight division by beating compatriot Byron Jude Diems in the finals.
Glydd Sapanza of Arnis Mlang and Ronald Rimando of Alpha DDO both third.
Jiemar Tehomis of Black Cat dominated Jesse Nazareno of Maragusan in the Senior Advanced Boy’s Extra lightweight while John Patrick Acelo of Godcares defeated Amiel Tindugan of Dynamic in Senior Advance Boy’s lightweight.
Jhazzley Baustista of Black Cat outclassed Hilary Pelasyon of Samal to rule the Senior Advance girl’s pinweight.
The tournament was handled by Grandmaster Mario Palazuelo, who was assisted by secretariat Ali Kadafi Fermin.
