Andales to challenge Shigeoka in Japan on March 31

ORTHODOX ArAr "Asero" Andales of Samar will go to Japan to challenge new International Boxing Federation (IBF) World minimumweight champion Ginjiro Shigeoka on March 31 at the International Conference Hall in Nagoya, Japan.
In his last two fights which were both held in Japan, Andales fought to a technical draw in both occasion. Andales first fought against Japanese Tsubasa Koura on October 25, 2022 at the Korakuen Hall which ended in the 2nd round draw. He then tackled former WBO World minimumweight champion Wilfredo Mendez of Puerto Rico which resulted in a 4th round technical draw on October 10, 2023 at Ota-City General Gymnasium.
The 24-year-old Andales now has 14 wins with six knockouts, two loses and three draws while the undefeated Shigeoka, a southpaw, has 10 wins with eight knockouts.
Shigeoka, 24, took away the IBF World minimumweight title from Daniel Valladres of Mexico by a 5th round technical knockout on October 7, 2023 at Ota-City General Gym.
It will be the first title defense of Shigeoka.
The promoters are Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing and Koki Kameda of Kameda Promotions.
