Nueva Ecija Chess Knight Rapid chessfest gets underway Jan.14

THE Nueva Ecija Chess Knight Rapid Chess Tournament 2024 excitement is set to unfold on January 14 at the SM Mega Center in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija.
The one-day Swiss System format competition welcomes participants of all ages, from children to adults which divided two categories, Open Category and kiddies category (13 under).
Some 100 woodpushers are expected to see action in the event organized by the Nueva Ecija Chess Knight and sponsored by FS/Supt. Artemio Llana (ret.), Prof. Jacinto Y. Bustamante, engr. Robert Divina, Atty. Bertrand Russel C. Dysangco, RN Man and Ink Mate Refiling Station.
The Open champion will win a trophy and a cash prize of P5,000, while the runner-up will receive P3,000 and a medal. The third placer will take home P1,500 and a medal, as the fourth and fifth placers will each pocket P1,000 and P700 and a medals.
Special awardees, such as top senior, female, college, and high school, will be given cash prizes and a medals.
The kiddies category (13 under) champion will earn P2,000 and a trophy. The rest top 10 winners will receive a medals and a cash prizes of P1,000, P700, P500, P400 and P200, respectively.
