PhilBoxing.com

Undisputed Champions and Boxing Superstars Canelo and Charlo To Meet Face-to-Face at NYC Press Conference Today at Palladium Times Square

August 15, 2023 – Undisputed Super Middleweight World Champion Canelo Álvarez and Undisputed Junior Middleweight World Champion Jermell Charlo will be on full display in Midtown Manhattan today at 1 p.m. ET when their New York City press conference streams live on two outdoor billboards overlooking Times Square. The press conference will be visible to thousands on the Paramount Twins LED Billboards at 1515 Broadway between 44th and 45th street at the Paramount Global building as Canelo and Charlo meet face-to-face today in the first leg of their coast-to-coast media tour to kick off their September 30 super fight for Canelo’s undisputed 168-pound titles. Today’s press conference will take place at the Palladium Times Square.

The two billboards, one facing south above the 44th street entrance, the other facing north at the 45th street entrance, will air highlights of Canelo and Charlo’s best fights starting at 12 p.m., leading into the 1 p.m. press conference. The two video displays will then air more highlights of both fighters from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. following the presser. It’s the second time that SHOWTIME® has live-streamed a boxing press event atop a Times Square billboard, following the Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford kickoff press conference in June.

In addition to appearing on the large displays, Tuesday’s press conference will also stream live on the SHOWTIME SPORTS® YouTube channel, SHOWTIME Boxing® Facebook page and Premier Boxing Champions YouTube channel.

Canelo and Charlo will fight for the undisputed super middleweight championship on September 30 at T-Mobile Arena on SHOWTIME PPV® in an event presented by Premier Boxing Champions. Canelo, who’s amassed one of the best resumes of his generation at only 33 years old, will make the third consecutive defense of his WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO super middleweight world titles against the junior middleweight king Charlo in the first matchup of the four-belt era pitting two reigning undisputed champions against each other. The boxing superstars will also meet tomorrow at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, also streaming live on the SHOWTIME SPORTS digital channels.
