Former WBC world featherweight titleholder Mark "Magnifico" Magsayo will face Brandon Figueroa on March 4 in a 12-round bout that will take place at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California.

Magsayo (24-1, 16 KOs) of Tagbilaran City now residing Valencia, Los Angeles, California, lost his WBC title to Rey Vargas by split decision in his last bout on July 9, 2022 at the Alamodome, San Antonio, Texas, USA.

The 26-year-old Magsayo won the WBC title on January 22, 2022 ending Gary Russell's seven-year title reign and became the new WBC featherweight champion by majority decision at Borgata, Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA.

He defeated Mexican Julio Ceja by 10th round KO on August 21, 2021 at T-Mobile Arena, Paradise, Nevada, USA.

He stopped American Chris Avalos by 6th round TKO on April 23, 2016 at Cebu City Sports Complex, Cebu City to grab the WBO international featherweight title.

Figueroa (23-1-1, 18 KOs) of Weslaco, Texas, also fought on the same July 9 Magsayo vs. Vargas card, stopping Carlos Castro in the sixth round. It was his first fight since November 2021, when he lost to Stephen Fulton by majority decision in a back-and-forth fight in San Antonio, Texas, USA.

Before the Fulton defeat, Figueroa, also 26, won the WBC world junior featherweight title in May 2021 by knocking out Luis Nery in the seventh round.

Figueroa won the WBA interim super bantamweight title against Venezuelan Yonfrez Parejo by 8th round stoppage on April 20, 2019 at Dignity Health Sports Park, Carson, California, USA.

He defeated Julio Ceja by split decision on November 23, 2019 at MGM Grand Garden Arena, Paradise, Nevada, U.S.to defend the WBA (Regular) super bantamweight title.

“Figueroa and I both like to move forward, so everyone knows exactly what kind of fight this will be,” Magsayo told The Ring. “My goals are to give the fans the action they love and to regain my place in the division. I’m ready to face anyone they put in front of me. This is a true Mexican versus Filipino style matchup, and I can’t wait to get back in the ring to perform once again.”
