Ex-OPBF champ Naruto wins again

PhilBoxing.com

FORMER Orient and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) minimumweight champion Lito “Naruto” Dante of Bohol stopped Ryan Ralozo of Cagayan de Oro City in the second round last April 30 in the “Matira ang Matibay” at the Barangay Lourdes in Dangcagan, Bukidnon.

The 32-year-old Dante first knocked down Ralozo in the 1st round after he was bombarded with left blows.

In the second canto, Dante then down Ralozo in early moments before he again knocked down Ralozo for good with left and right punches.

The 31-year-old Ralozo was more exhausted as he could not stand anymore from the beating of Dante. The end came at one minute and 32 seconds of the 2nd round.

“I was planning to enjoy the crowd but he was also throwing punches so I had to throw punches too,” said Dante.

Dante said that he had to also fight because he also wants to win. He also hurt his nose due to a cut by an accidental head butt by Ralozo.

He will also be a part of the sparring partners of former International Boxing Federation super flyweight champion Jerwin “Pretty Boy” Ancajas.

“Just watch out for Naruto because he's already added more excitement to the game,” said Dante, who has two new coaches both from the Philippine Navy national team – Florence Ferrer and Fernando Parcon.

Ferrer, who is the former trainer of the first Filipina world champion Gretchen Abaniel is also the new manager of Dante.

Dante, who now has 18 wins, 11 loses, 4 draws and 10 knockouts, was supposed to defend his first OPBF title last 2020 in Japan.

“It was only one week before my first OPBF title fight that the pandemic was announced,” said Dante.

Dante said that he was removed from world ranking due to inactivity. He wants to fight WBC world minimumweight champion Panya Pradabsri of Thailand, who defeated his compatriot Chayaphon Moohsnri last November 27, 2020 at City Hall Ground in Nakhon Sawan.

Pradabsri has recently beat again Moohsnri in their rematch by a unanimous decision last March 29, 2022.

“I saw him fight and his style, I can beat him,” said Dante.

Dante, who last visited Bohol in 2015 is planning to visit his parents before he will be back to train again in Bukidnon.

The Dante-Rapoza fight was promoted by Joven Jimenez and supported by Ancajas,

It was also supported by Clarissa Jimenez, Raffy Jimenez and matchmaker Vic Cabalog.
