'Kid Terrible' in Intense Training Sparring with Asia's Best PhilBoxing.com Fri, 28 Mar 2008 BANGKOK -- After training in Hawaii, Ciso "Kid Terrible" Morales finds his way back to Asia but not Philippines. Instead, the young prospect is currently in Thailand finding the best Asian sparmates he ever will encounter in his youthful professional career. Kenneth Rontal, who manages Morales, states: "We had to spar with Thailand's great Somsak Sitchachawal (56win-2lost-44ko) former WBA Jr. featherweight champion who is scheduled to engage with (PABA) Poonsawat Kratingdaengym in a WBA eliminator scheduled March 31st at Bangkok, Thailand and also sparred with highly regarded WBO #2 world rated Sod Looknongyangtoy who in the past had twice encountered with Daniel Ponce De Leon. They both gave Morales the toughest preparation that he needs for his scheduled match on April 6th against southpaw Korean Yoo Shin Kim." Rontal noted that Morales figured in all-out gym wars, but the atmosphere was very friendly. "It was a total warfare in the gym of Thailand, we felt like outsiders however, they treated us with respect after Kid Terrible showed what he is made of during sparring with Thailand's best. There are a lot of southpaws in Thailand which we needed for his preperation, and with the help of Thai friends we landed on the doorstep of Somsak Sithcahchawal and Sod Looknongyangtoy gym. They are great boxers, and I thank them for giving us the opportunity to train alongside with them," added Rontal. Kid Terrible, according to Rontal, is ready for his scheduled April 6th WBO Oriental title defense against Korea's Yoo Shin Kim and is in his peak condition after training for a month abroad. "I did realize after sparring with Somsak Sithchatchawal, that Morales was holding-up against Somsak's heavy hands, it gave me confidence that he too can be a world champion one of these days. These intense training and sparring session made Morales a better fighter. He is more determined to become a world champion however, we will still push for more experience, Morales is still young and learning his trade," explains Rontal. "Ciso Morales had made a lot of sacrifices to travel abroad just to better himself, it gets really lonely for him especially it's his first time outside of Philippines and that made him always feeling homesick, leaving his family behind was hard for him to do because his parents is always worried about him. I am sure they will understand what he is doing for his family, Morales wants his family, friends and his fans in the Philippines to be proud of him." Morales will do his best to win this coming April 6th," Rontal said in closing. |
