Almacen bows to Budler by UD DAVAO CITY – Twenty-one year-old Jonathan "Pretty Boy" Almacen of Muntinlupa tried his best but was not enough as he lost by a unanimous decision to Hekkie “The Hexecutioner” Budler of South Africa in the battle for the vacant World Boxing Council Silver light flyweight title last May 22 at the Booysens Hall at Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. It was the 5th defeat by Almacen against seven wins and two draws. Budler thrEw more punches than Almacen. Although, Almacen also hit Budler with his punches including a flyover punch. Almacen started to fight at the distance with Budler chasing at him in the 10th round. The 33-year-old Budler kept on hitting Almacen with his sharp punches in the last two rounds. The judges scored 118-111, 117-111 and 118-111 all in favor of Budler. Budler improved his record to 33 wins with 10 knockouts but with four defeats. He said that Almacen has still a bright future ahead of him. The bubble boxing event was promoted by Ctril Lehong. Canoy loses to Tyirha by UD Light flyweight Joey "Singwangcha" Canoy of Gen. Santos City lost to Nhlanhla Tyirha of South Africa by a unanimous decision for the vacant World Boxing Association Inter-Continental light flyweight title last May 21 at the International Convention Centre in East London, South Africa. The 27-year-old Canoy suffered his fifth setback against 16 wins and one draw while Tyirha took his fifth win against one loss. Meanwhile, Ayanda Ndulani won the International Boxing Organization World Minimum title over defending champion Nkosinathi Joyi by a knockout in the 4th round.
