Ring Telmex Telcel Foundation and the WBC joined forces to create the Jose Sulaiman Fund

It was in 2014, two years after the creation of the José Sulaimán Fund, that the World Boxing Council and the Ring Telmex Foundation reached a historic agreement where Ring Telmex agreed to provide $ 150,000 dollars to sponsorship to the “José Sulaimán” Boxers Fund, the eternal dream of our dear Don José.
A sponsorship that arose from the agreement with the WBC, where it was agreed that the referees who will participate in fights sanctioned by the WBC in their corresponding fights, will wear the official uniform, now including the Ring Telmex Foundation logo.
Let us remember that the fund was established thanks to the support and efforts of the WBC President for Life, our dear José Sulaimán.
He always looked for a way to support retired professional boxers who go through difficult times and that it was created with an initial capital of 1 million dollars. , raised by the WBC and Swiss luxury watch brand Hublot, during the memorable 2012 “Night of Champions” gathering.
The “José Sulaimn” Fund is administered by the Nevada Community Foundation, an independent charity based in Las Vegas, Nevada that has currently awarded more than $ 500,000 to many boxers around the world.
Since then, and until today we feel deeply grateful to all who have made this possible, because the boxing family has embraced this initiative and we can see referees from all over the world use the logo of the Foundation.
