San Antonio Boxers Jason Limon and Sebastian Rodriguez Make Pro Debuts, Javier Fernandez Looks to Remain Undefeated in Mexico

PhilBoxing.com

SAN ANTONIO, TX (February 5, 2021) – Three young fighters from the South Park Boxing Academy in San Antonio, TX, will be fighting this Saturday, February 6, 2021, at the Salon de Eventos, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico.

Jason “El Gallo” Limon and Sebastian Rodriguez, both who fight at the super lightweight division, will be making their pro debuts, while featherweight Javier “Pama” Fernandez (1-0, 1 KO), looks to remain undefeated in his second professional bout.

All three fighters, who will fight in four round bouts, are trained by well-respected San Antonio boxing coach, Rick Nunez. Fernandez will square off against Julio Grimaldo, Rodriguez will face Miguel Figueroa, and Limon will battle Jessie Rivera.

“I’m excited to be making my pro debut this Saturday,” said 18-year-old Jason Limon. “I’ve been in the ring with many top-level fighters and I’m confident in my ability to make a run in the pros. I’m a boxer-puncher with good reach and good power.”

“In my first fight, I scored a knockout with a nice body blow,” stated Fernandez, who is 17-years old. “I’m a pressure fighter that likes to go to the body and break my opponent down. I can box from the outside if need be, but I prefer to fight on the inside.”

“I like to consider myself a puncher-boxer,” Rodriguez said. “I have power in both hands and have had many knockouts in the amateurs. I’m only 20-years old, so as I progress, I feel I’ll only get better with time. I’ll certainly be going for the knockout in my pro debut.”

“It’s been really hard to get my guys fights during the pandemic,” said head coach Rick Nunez, who also is the lead trainer for undefeated prospect, Omar Juarez (10-0, 5 KOs). “I’m grateful to all the sponsors who helped us get to this point. All my fighters have had good amateur careers, but I think they are better fit for the pros. Right now, I'm going to build them in Mexico, until things open up in the States.”
