PACQUIAO?S MEDIA BLITZ CONTINUES By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Thu, 06 Mar 2008 Thrilled by the huge throng that crammed the Titanium Training Center in San Francisco for Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao?s open public workout, astute Top Rank promoter Bob Arum has arranged another open media workout at Freddie Roach?s Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles at 1:00 p.m. today. Pacquiao, Roach and Arum will be at the Vine Street Gym to answer questions from the media while the devastating punching machine is expected to once again impress onlookers with his blazing hand speed and his punching power. You Tube video clips showing Pacquiao playing his guitar and singing while some of those in his apartment including boyhood friend and Filipino trainer Buboy Fernandez had fun dancing, indicated that Pacquiao was relaxed and confident and didn?t appear to have any worries. Roach and Arum have both confirmed in separate conversations with Viva Sports/Manila Standard that Pacquiao was in ?terrific shape and totally focused? with Arum stating that when Pacquiao is this way ?nobody in the world can beat him.? But Marquez claimed, in an interview with boxingscene.com recently, that he will beat Pacquiao and that the Filipino was no Mexican assassin because while he beat Marco Antonio Barrera and Erik ?El Trerible? Morales ?he didn?t beat me.? Sports Illustrated boxing writer Chris Mannix has picked Marquez to win in his eagerly awaited rematch at the Mandalay Bay Resort Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on March 16, Manila Time, in a fight to be telecast by Solar Sports in cooperation with GMA 7. Mannix was quoted by Ring Magazine, the ?Bible? of boxing that Marquez ?doesn?t have the power to knock out Pacquiao but he has the skills to beat him over a twelve round distance. I like Marquez because I think he?s hungry for this rematch.? Mannix said he had a chance to talk o Marquez who told him he ?regrets getting caught in the first round of their first fight ? adding ?I also know he regrets not having the rematch sooner, before he lost to Chris John. Marquez has what he wants now.? Meantime Pacquiao's charming wife Jinkee said she is leaving on the Philippine Airlines flight for Los Angeles tonight to join her husband.
