Kid Terrible Defends WBO Oriental Against Korean PhilBoxing.com Thu, 21 Feb 2008 SGG Sports Promotions Sammy Gello-ani has informed today that his hot Filipino prospect Ciso "Kid Terrible" Morales is now slated to defend his WBO Oriental superbantam title against Korean champion Yoo Shin Kim of Soul Korea in the supporting bout of Gerry Penalosa / Ratanachai Sor Vorapin WBO world title clash this coming April 6 at the Araneta Coliseum. "We are sure excited to showcase Morales in Manila. Golden Boy Promotions Vice president Eric Gomez has indicated that ABS-CBN wanted also to showcase Kid Terrible in this program since it was a high profile fight. The whole country of Philippines will be watching, we agreed with Gomez, I would want that exposure for Morales especially in Manila, we are looking forward to this event" said Gello-ani. Ciso "Kid Terrible" Morales who recently won the Oriental title against Indonesian tough-as- nail Marangin Marbun got the thumbs-up on the US Visa yesterday as he is set to travel to Hawaii along with his manager Kenneth Rontal, to train with Hawaiian Fil-Am trainer Bobby Villaver to further hone his skills. Morales will be training alongside WBO #1 featherweight Terdsak Jandaeng as he is preparing for Steven Leavano for the WBO featherweight title on March 15. Also in the camp is former WBA Super Bantamweight World Champion Somsak Sithchachawal who was recognized by ESPN as "fighter of the year" when he destroyed France highly regarded champion Mahyar Monshipour. Gello-ani informed that by training alongside these two world class veterans, the out-come for Morales will surely be more explosive and deadly. "We want Morales to have the necessary training to bring out more of his skills," explained Gello-ani. "Kenneth Rontal, manager of Morales is far going beyond managers duty to give Morales every possible way to get the right training for his boxer. Our goal is Daniel Ponce De Leon if he is still around, we are not in the rush however, we need to set goals and direction for our fighter. Next year we should have enough fights and experience to go up against the world champion", said Gello-ani. |
