CISO MORALES GUNNING FOR STARDOM PhilBoxing.com Tue, 05 Feb 2008  Another Filipino prospect is set to vie for the WBO Asia Pacific Youth and WBO Oriental superbantam vacant titles on February 9th at the Mindanao Civic Center in Tubod, Lanao del Norte, Philippines. There have been so much talk about Ciso Morales that prompted Philboxing.com to cover this so called "El Terrible" of Philippines to see if this kid is the real deal. Promoter Sammy Gello-ani and manager Kenneth Rontal are both anticipating a great fight. Gello-ani explained, "Both fighters are young and they are eager to be champions we should see a knock out victory" and our Kid Terrible Morales should be victorious. Indonesian challenger Marangin Marbun is scheduled to arrive in the Philippines this week with his manager Pino Bahari. The one and only Mr. Bruce Mctavish of New Zealand, a veteran referee especially in pressure-moment fights, will serve as third man on the ring. Ciso Morales, a young and up comming prospect from Talibon, Bohol is the next highly talked about prospect that will be trading blows with Indonesia "Dynamita" Marangin Marbun in an event promoted by Lemuel Yap of Black Scorpion Promotions and Sammy Gello-ani of SGG Sports Promotions. "Ciso Morales has to win this fight in order for him to take part on that scheduled super fight with Paquiao on March 15th, this fight is a very important fight for him" Gello-ani explained. Golden Boy Promotions, VP Eric Gomez in an interview, confirmed that Morales is already penciled in on the show on March 15 however, no opponent has been mentioned as of yet. The highly anticipated bout between Morales and Indonesian "Dynamita" Marangin Marbun is promoted by Lemuel Yap's Black Scorpion Promotions and Sammy Gello-ani of SGG Sports Promotions through the support of Lanao del Norte's first family, Congressman Abdullah D. Dimaporo, Governor Khalid Q. Dimaporo and former Governor Mrs. Imelda Q. Dimaporo. NOT ONE, BUT TWO TITLES SGG Sports Promotions Sammy Gello-ani has just informed that the WBO Oriental title has just been added together with the WBO YOUTH bout scheduled between Ciso Morales and Marangin Marbun on February 9th. "I have turned in a request to add on the vacant Oriental title to the scheduled card of Morales and today Leon Panoncillo informed me that it is approved. We want to fight for that title," said Gello-ani, "it is the key reason why WBO regional champions have been getting opportunities in the States for world title shots. It's so effective, and we want to be part of it. Not only me, promoters in Asia have been seeing positive results." Gello-ani explained, "Look who is in the undercard of that super fight with Paquiao / Marquez co-main. It features a WBO Asia Pacific champion (Thailand's) Terdsak "Pit Bull" Jandaeng who is making his mandatory challenge against Steven Leavano for the WBO World featherweight crown, it's because of that regional title that Panoncillo has been providing that put him there. With that and among other things that Panoncillo have done for Philippines and Asia, we are very honored and privilege that he is giving us the opportunity". Certainly, the World Boxing Organization has done its part and it shows on its past references on fighters that holds the regional champions who get the opportunity to vie for the world title.  |
