Golden Boy's Gomez Looks Ahead on Ciso Morales

PhilBoxing.com

Golden Boy Promotions Vice President Eric Gomez is looking into great things for Ciso "El Terrible" Morales as Gomez is highly anticipating the result of Ciso's upcoming WBO Asia-Pacific Youth Championship bout against 'Dynamita' Marangin of Indonesia scheduled on February 9 in Tubod, Lanao del Norte.

In an interview, Rontal informed Philboxing that the coming bout of Ciso Morales, everyone in the Philippines will finally be able to see how Morales fights. "I am glad to hear that Viva Sports is covering this show. All over Cagayan and his home town Talibon, Bohol people have been asking about his next fight and how good he is. When I heard from our promoter that it will be televised, I was relieved that finally I can inform those who cannot attend and is curious about Morales, to just tune in to Viva Sports channel. There is so much anticipation among Filipino fans about Morales and I cannot explain everytime to all of them, I really thank Philboxing for this interview, now they can just read about his televised bout and just tune in to Viva Sports this coming February 9th to watch Morales," said Rontal.

He continued saying "I can assure you, the fans and Eric Gomez of Golden Boy Promotions that you will not be disappointed. Everyone that I speak to wants Morales to challenge a credible top ten contender and this coming February 9th will be someone with capabilities, (the Indonesian) went the distance with Glenn Porras and Porras is a good fighter. However, Morales will stop the Indonesian Dynamita, Marbun will not last more than five rounds," explained Rontal.

"We are not in a rush in getting him to the top however, this WBO Youth title will rank him in the top 15th in the world. We will develop him, his body is still young and we will match him with the same amount of experience as Morales, I will never over match him, as soon as his body mature we will test him at the right stage of his career when his body allows him to," Rontal continued.

"All fighters need to be developed but as soon as he is ready we will not be afraid to challenge anyone in his weight category. We have full confidence in Morales, however we are not looking past his opponent this Febuary 9th, he will deliver what everyone in the Philippines is expecting, a win for Filipinos."

Rontal briefly explained and gave Philboxing some idea of how Morales fights, "he is a very clever boxer, he uses his ring generalship and self defense, extremely well schooled what we call natural ability, tricky and heavy handed with both fist and very accurate with his punches. This kid has a heart of a lion, precision puncher with perfect timing and most important of all he has a solid chin that most fighters are having problems with. In time we will tell how good he will be and I will ask our promoters to test him eventually," Rontal said.

In a recent article with Philboxing Eric Gomez Vice President of Golden Boy Promotions has informed that he has already penciled Ciso Morales in the undercard of the Mega fight with Pacquiao this March 15th. No name of the opponent had been mentioned however. The "Kid Terrible" will surely be a fighter that all Mexican and Filipinos alike who idolized Eric Morales will be curious of who this Morales from Philippines is.

In closing Rontal thanked Lemuel Yap Black Scorpion Promotions and Sammy Gello-ani of SGG Sports Promotions for showcasing Morales and also thanked for the support of Lanao del Norte's first family, Congressman Abdullah D. Dimaporo, Governor Khalid Q. Dimaporo and former Governor Mrs. Imelda Q. Dimaporo.
