Palicte to depart June 11 for Japan

DAVAO CITY ? Super flyweight Aston ?Mighty? Palicte of the Philippines will be in Japan on June 11 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba City.
The 28-year old Palicte (25W-2L-1D, 21KO) will fight Kazuto Ioka (23W-2L-0D, 13KO) of Japan for the vacant World Boxing Organization world super flyweight title on June 19.
Palicte is right now 125 lbs. and is training at the Shape Up Boxing Gym in Baguio City.
?Dito lang po sa bundok ako tumatakbo (I only ran here at the mountains)? said Palicte.
He is accompanied by his brother and trainer Vincent.
?Ok lang po sir maganda at kundisyon (I am OK and in good condition),? said Palicte.
Palicte knocked out Jose Martinez of Puerto Rico on the 2nd round last Jan. 31, 2019 in Alpine, USA.
He earlier had a split draw with Donnie Nietes for the vacant WBO World super flyweight last Sept. 8, 2018 in Inglewood, USA.
The 30-year old Ioka suffered a loss by a split decision on Nietes by a vacant WBO world super flyweight title last Dec. 31, 2018. (Lito delos Reyes)
