By Jason Aniel PhilBoxing.com Thu, 04 Apr 2019

OAKLAND -- In a showdown of the top two seeds in the Western conference, the Golden State Warriors made a statement by once again defeating the Denver Nuggets, 116-102. With the win, the Warriors (53-24) are now 2 games ahead of the Nuggets (51-26) in the standings with just 5 games remaining in the regular season.
DeMarcus Cousins had his best game of the season as a Warrior, finishing with 28 points and 12 rebounds, going 12-17 from the field. Kevin Durant continued his dominance and efficient play, scoring 21 points with 6 assists in just 21 minutes. Durant was, however, ejected early in the third quarter after getting two technical fouls following an altercation with a referee.
Despite Durant?s early exit, the Warriors extended the lead, being up as much as 30 points in the second half. Stephen Curry scored 17 points with 5 three-point makers. The Warriors moved the rock as a team assisting 36 of their 50 total baskets.
The Nuggets had aspirations of the number one seed. However, with the loss, the Nuggets are now in danger of falling as low as the 5th seed in the West. The Nuggets have a tough road ahead in their final 5 games. They still have two games against the Portland Blazers, one against the San Antonio Spurs, and one against the Utah Jazz.
