FIDE Master Christian Mark Daluz swept his assignments and scored 6.0 points to take the championships trophy at the conclusion of the 10th edition of the AQ Prime Standard Open Chess Tournament at Lower Ground Activity Area, Alimall, Araneta, Cubao, Quezon City was held from June 6-7, 2026.

Daluz opened his campaign with a win over John Destan Bangloy then followed it with victories over Clark Lois Teves, Carl Daluz, Stephen Zane Quinto, Candidate Master Al-Basher Buto and Adrian de Luna. His run was a testament of his mastery in the opening of this two-day National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) sanctioned tournament, a FIDE rated event with a standard time control format of 60 minutes plus 30 seconds increment, hosted by AQ Prime CEO/President Atty. Aldwin Alegre.

"A day filled with brilliant strategies, memorable matches, and max concentration from start to finish," said Atty. Alegre, one of the top chess players of Emilio Aguinaldo College Taft Manila during his College days.

"AQ Prime homegrown FM Christian Mark Daluz won the 10th edition of the AQ Prime FIDE Rated Chess Standard Tournament, and it is indeed his second victory in this tournament, with his first win being in the inaugural edition. Congratulations to him and to all the players who participated in the tournament! Thank you everyone," he added.

"We're doing this Tournament to promote chess at the grassroots level and to discover future chess talents and champions," last word of Atty. Alegre.

Kyle Ochoa defeated Christian Erickson Costuna in the last round to score a similar perfect 6.0 points.

However, FM Daluz won the tie break points to clinch the title plus the top prize of P10,000.

"I am very happy with my performance tonight," said the inaugural champion FM Daluz, is a homegrown talent of the star-studded AQ Prime chess talents that includes WIM Marie Antoinette San Diego, NM Al-Basher Buto, John Randall Peralta and Marius Constante.

FIDE Master Christopher Castellano dismantled International Master Jose Efren Bagamasbad to raise his total 5.0 points and finish in a tie for third to sixth placers in the company of Carl Daluz, Adrian de Luna and Stephen Zane Quinto.
