The Fight Continues For Boxing and MMA Veteran Chris Lytle At BKFC2 PhilBoxing.com Wed, 15 Aug 2018 Fight sports veteran Chris Lytle returns to the professional scene August 25 at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships 2: The New Era, in a highly anticipated contest against Drew Lipton. ?Lights Out? Lytle had a decorated career inside the cage, putting together a record of 31-18-5, 3 KO and 22 submissions, while also doing work inside the squared circle with a 13-1-1 record with 7 KOs. It has been 7 years since he stepped onto the professional platform, but the fire and fight inside of him has not diminished. ?I believe that once a fighter, always a fighter, in every aspect of life,? said Lytle, a full time fireman who turns 44 next week. ?I walked away from the sport to spend more time with my family, and now I?m ready to come back. When I first heard about Bare Knuckle Fighting I thought those guys were crazy, but then I watched a Bobby Gunn fight and saw the precision and the science behind it, and I was instantly drawn to it.? Lytle continued that BKFC has the same allure that MMA did in its infancy, while it was so new to the fight sports world. ?Contrary to what people believe, Bare Knuckle is safer on the brain than gloved boxing and MMA. Sure there?s a superficial risk of getting cut open, but the lasting damage to the brain is much much less. You have to be conditioned and precise with your punches. I?ve been training hard for this and it feels so good to be back at it. I?m not looking past August 25, but if I feel I?m able to perform at my level I expect to, the sky is the limit. It?s going to be fun to watch this sport take off and become as mainstream if not more mainstream than the other fight sports. Bare knuckle fighting has been around for over 100 years and the historical relevancy alone will continue to intrigue so many people.? The former UFC fighter has proven himself a warrior inside the cage, and fans can expect the same when he puts his toe to the line August 25. The fight has been brewing inside of Lytle for 7 years, and he plans on leaving it all out there to give the fans a show. ?Fans want to see fighters fighting, not the drama and the hype buildup. I?m honored to be part of this card and give big thanks to David Feldman for making this happen, as well as Bobby Gunn who has been a frontiersman for the sport.? Lytle meets Lipton August 25 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, MS. For tickets, to order online or more information on the fight card visit https://www.bareknuckle.tv/. |
