LUNAS TO DEFEND OPBF CROWN ON JAN. 27

Japan-based Filipino Rolly (Lunas) Matsushita, the reigning OPBF bantamweight champion, will defend his title once again on January 27 against Thailand's Kaona Klongpajol at the Ishikawa Sangyo Hall in Kanazawa, Ishikawa, Japan.
This will be Lunas' third defense of the title he won over Mandaue City's Malcolm Tunacao early this year with a tenth-round technical decision.
Lunas is coming off a 12th-round technical knockout win over Japan prospect Masayuki Mitani last August in Hyogo, Japan.
Prior to that, he defended his title for the first time with an eleventh-round technical knockout over Thai Samingnum Wor Wiwatananum in April also at the Sangyo Hall.
Thailand's bantamweight champion Klongpajol, ranked OPBF no. 5, is coming off a first-round TKO over Chikara Hashimoto last June 21.
