ANCAJAS, CONLAN MAKE WEIGHT

BELFAST -- IBF world 115-lb champion Jerwin Ancajas weighed exactly 115 lbs, the junior bantamweight limit. Challenger Jamie Conlan weighed a little below 115 lbs but his exact weight could not be clearly heard as the announcement was deadened by the shouting of the excited crowd. [Conlan also weighed in at 115 lbs according to reports from the venue -- Ed]
After his weighin, Jerwin slowly drank water to begin rehydration. Upon returning to the hotel, Jerwin ate the especially prepared sumptuous meal cooked for him and his team by their generous Belfast based compatriots. The local Filipinos have been very attentive to the team's needs telling the team that whatever they need, they would provide. Such brand of kindness and hospitality would not be easily forgotten by Jerwin and the team members.
No amount of words would suffice to fully express the Ancajas team's appreciation of the active love the Belfast Filipinos have made the team to experience.
Jerwin's ring performance on fight night is surely boosted by the invaluable support these countrymen unselfishly showered on the country's current 115-lb world champion.
