PACQUIAO WANTS DIAZ, BUT SAYS MONEY SHOULD BE RIGHT By Salven L. Lagumbay PhilBoxing.com Sun, 14 Oct 2007 CEBU CITY -- The world's most exciting fighter wants to take on all comers, but emphasizes that money should be right when he takes on any of the world's most capable bangers. Pacquiao, who is currently on a two-day visit here to thank fans for their all-out support while he was training at the RWS gym for the fight with Marco Antonio Barrera, said that it won't matter who they place in front of him, as long as he is paid the right amount of cash. "If the prize is right," Pacquiao reacted when asked whether he would love to fight Juan Diaz, Edwin Valero, or Juan Manuel Marquez next. The bullstrong Diaz added the IBF title to his WBO/WBA crown hours ago when he dominated Julio Diaz on a ninth-round TKO in Chicago. Pacquiao faced the local media here today accompanied by his business associate Rex 'Wakee' Salud, Governor Chavit Singson, Cebu City Councilor Sylvan 'Jack' Jakosalem, and Vice-Mayor Mike Rama. Upon arrival this morning, Pacquiao first went to the Basilica del Sto. Ni?o in downtown Cebu to pay homage to Cebu's patron, the Sto. Ni?o de Cebu. After, the group then went to the Waterfront Hotel in Lahug, Pacquiao's virtual home during his training in Cebu last month, for the scheduled media conference. At 2:30 in the afternoon, Pacquiao is going to grace the opening of the 1st MP Cup Invitational Basketball Tournament and then play for his Pacman Team versus the Cebu Media at the University of San Carlos (Main) Gym. At 6:00 p.m., Pacquiao will be present during a thanksgiving dinner for Pacquiao's victory against Barrera to be hosted by the Cebu City government at the the Rajah Park Hotel in uptown Cebu. On Wednesday, Pacquiao is scheduled to fly back to General Santos City to attend to his ailing mother and meet fans, and the following day, is expected to attend his first day in class at the Notre Dame University where he will take up a Business course. Meanwhile, Pacquiao also revealed that his younger brother Bobby is slated to see action on November 26 in the United States against a soon-to-be-announced foe. Also seeing action on the card are two promising Mindanao fighters--Glenn Gonzales and Jundy Maraon (With reports by Dong Secuya).
