Fake News, Fake Sports By Earl Blaney PhilBoxing.com Thu, 10 Aug 2017  In this great age of information, how is it that we know nothing and understand less? Our method of learning is the key. Strapped in and wired. Full access, information has become easy, but easy information ? the short version is a problem. No one is learning anything from it- but it is accepted as knowledge, it is in fact the new medium of learning. If you are still tuned into CNN, (tuning out is tough- it is built in), you would believe three things: 1) Trump can?t win, shouldn?t have won and his win will be soon erased. 2) North Korea and the US are headed for war. 3) Conor McGregor has a shot at beating Flyod Mayweather. If you believe any of the above, you are a victim of technology - with all its great benefits. It?s not your IQ perhaps, it is the materials you are running your IQ on. Your version of the world, is the short version - the media version, a version of reality that teaches life to spoilt children via tablets and Facebook. 140 characters or less, ideally. Adults still read, reading in the real sense means sources other than observing posts on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, but it is rare. Probably you are connected to these people, if you are they probably have little to say on these interfaces. This is how you learn things now, through Facebook and CNN. This week I had a teacher ask me if I think they are going to start a nuclear war in Korea? Read a book about the Korean war, any book, and know the answer is NO. Trump was elected, and elected he will stay. Russia didn?t elect Trump. McGregor is a fighter, not a boxer. Floyd Mayweather?s boxing record is TIED for the GREATEST EVER RECORD IN THE SPORT OF BOXING (equal with Marciano 49-0), he is a legend. It is true that McGregor was a boxer at the amateur level and IS a fighter now (but not a boxer). The difference is, Mayweather was an amateur boxer also (a champion) AND CONTINUED to fight professionally (at the highest levels) for the next 20 plus years. Dentists are technically doctors, would you hire a world class dentist to be your heart surgeon? If your world view considers the possibility of a McGregor victory ? but if that fails to occur, North Korea is still a sovereign state and Trump is still the President of the Untied States by the eve of August 26th, please do consider where you are gaining your knowledge from.
