PACQUIAO SPARS TEN ROUNDS By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Mon, 10 Sep 2007 ![]() Manny Pacquiao entered the crucial stage of his preparation for his rematch with legendary Mexican Marco Antonio Barrera by sparring ten rounds with talented Mexican Raymund Beltran and Filipinos Arnel Tinampay and Aaron Melgerejo at the RWS Gym in Cebu City. Trainer Freddie Roach said “Manny went ten good rounds” and indicated the workout was “pretty good for a Monday” considering that Pacquiao took the weekend off making a quick trip to Manila to sign an agreement with GMA 7 which will telecast the rematch with Barrera in cooperation with Solar Sports and ink a deal to host a sports-oriented reality show and a possible telenovela. Roach said Pacquiao was back in Cebu on Sunday evening and was in bed by 9:00 p.m. He said Pacquiao’s timing was “coming around” and he expects it to get better in the days ahead. Roach said the Filipino ring idol was unable to run at the IT Park yesterday morning because it was raining and instead ran inside the Waterfront Hotel hallways. Roach said he was reserving sparring partner David Rodela for Wednesday because he wants to “keep mixing things up.” The celebrated trainer reported that Pacquiao’s cold “has completely gone” and he is feeling much better.
