'EL ANIMAL' QUIGLEY DEVOURS MELENDEZ IN 1ST ROUND

Quigley registers another stoppage.
Undefeated Jason 'El Animal' Quigley of Woodland Hills, CA dropped Jorge Melendez of Puerto Rico midway in the very first round of their 10-round scheduled middleweight contest and Quigely claimed his 10th knockout victim in 12 fights. Quigley is now 12-0 while Melendez dropped to 28-8-1.
In the 5th bout of the evening on the Hopkins-Smith undercard, Ryan Garcia (7-0, 6KOs) of Victorville, CA stopped Antonio Martinez (6-8, 5KOs) of Durango, Mexico in the second round of their 6-round scheduled lightweight bout.
