SANMAN PROSPECT JAKE BORNEA LOOKS TO ADD ANOTHER TITLE THIS NOVEMBER

PhilBoxing.com

General Santos City, Philippines- Twenty one year old Jake Bornea of Jim Claude Mananquil's SANMAN Boxing of the Philippines is scheduled to appear in what looks to be the biggest fight of his young career on November 18, 2016 in a triple championship card at the iconic Wembly Arena, London, United Kingdom.

Jake Bornea (W 11 (KO 5) L1 D 0) is set to face local boy and 2012 London Olympian Andrew Selby (W 6 (KO 4) L0 D 0) for the vacant IBF Inter-Continental Flyweight title in a match-up that may steal the thunder from the co-main event championship pairs of Conrad Cummings vs Ronny Mittag IBF Inter-Continental Middleweight tiff and the George Groves vs Eduard Gutknetcht's WBA International Super Middleweight bout.

The General Santos, Philippines native Bornea has won the WBO Asia Pacific Youth Flyweight title August 11, 2015 over Richard Rosales via impressive 4th round knock-out and recently defended his title via unanimous verdict against Renerio Arizala. This fast rising pugilist from the southern part of the Philippines has been tremendously focused these past months preparing for this IBF title bout. "We have been preparing Jake these past months working day-in and out for this opportunity for him to win another title. We have studied tapes and have been working on not just his technique but his stamina as well." said SANMAN Boxing's CEO Jim Claude Manaquil.

"I have never prepared this hard for a fight as this is another great opportunity for me to prove not just to the Filipino boxing fans but also to myself that I can be a great boxing champion. I will do all I can to take this win and bring home the IBF Inter-Continental title back to the Philippines. I dedicate this fight to Christ and my brothers and sisters of my Iglesia Ni Cristo congregation." pronounced Bornea in his native tongue via an interview. Bornea is now on a 5 fight win streak and looks to add another one come fight night.

All is easier said for the young Bornea but come November 18, the Filipino Bornea will have to be at his best as on the other side of the ring will be an experienced and dangerous opposition in 2012 Olympic Quarterfinalist Andrew Selby. With a deceiving record of only 6 wins, this prizefighter from the Cardiff, Wales has stopped 4 of his 6 opponents so far and has vast experience fighting in the amateur ranks starting in 2006 in Morocco, 2007 in Chicago, USA, 2008 in Liverpool, England, 2009 in Milan, Itlay, 2010 Moscow, Russia, 2011 Ankaraa, Turkey and Baku, Azerbaijian, 2012 London Olympic games, 2013 Minsk, Belarus and Almaty, Kazakhstan and has competed in the World Series of Boxing since 2012-15 before turning pro the same year.

With the Moniker "Superstar", the 27 year old Selby is likewise looking to win against the Filipino Bornea as this will be his first crack at a title in his pro career. Andrew is the younger brother of IBF World Flyweight Champion Lee Selby who has notable wins over Joel Bunker, Fernando Montiel and Evgeny Gradovich.
