REISS TO REF BATAWANG-VERDE ELIMINATOR

Veteran Jack Reiss has been appointed by the IBF to referee the August 11 junior flyweight eliminator between Filipino Bert Batawang and Mexican Gerardo "Diablito" Verde at the Arco Arena in Sacramento, California.
According to IBF President Marian Muhammad, appointed to judge the 12-round fight are Tony Crebs, Marcos Rosales and Gwen Adair.
Meanwhile, Batawang and the rest of the Filipino fighters seeing action at the World Cup are slated to fly to Sacramento today. The team will fly from the Burbank Airport and stay at the Best Western Hotel Sutter House in downtown Sacramento just a few miles from the Arco Arena.
The other fighters traveling with Batawang are Rey 'Boom Boom' Bautista, Gerry Penalosa, Z Gorres, AJ Banal, Diosdado Gabi and Michael Domingo. Also set to join them are Filipino trainers Edito Villamor, Edmund Villamor and Jeremiah Quijano.
The group will participate in the week-long media hoopla leading to the big fights on Saturday. During the week, they will also do light training and conditioning to keep their bodies well trimmed and prepared.
