BAUTISTA IMPRESSIVE IN MITT-WORK WITH ROACH
By Salven L. Lagumbay PhilBoxing.com Wed, 01 Aug 2007

Filipino boxing phenom Rey 'Boom Boom' Bautista continues to put in the much-needed work, and yesterday hit the mitts with renowned trainer Freddie Roach holding it for him.
"Boom Boom looked impressive hitting the mitts yesterday with Roach holding it for him. You can hear the loud thuds, while Gorres was also doing the mitts with Edito Villamor holding at the other ring," said a Wild Card Gym insider, who also noted that their manager Michael Aldeguer was in attendance while the boys were doing their routine.
Bautista, along with the other ALA Boys seeing action on the August 11 World Cup, ran in the morning along Griffith Park in Hollywood.
Gerry Penalosa and Diosdado 'Prince' Gabi, meanwhile, ran on the 'killer terrain' of the Griffith Park yesterday.
"Gerry and Gabi spent almost an hour running dahil pagbaba nila series of exercise naman ang pinagawa sa kanila ni conditioning coach Ola," said the source.
Penalosa and Gabi then reported to the Wild Card at around 11:30 AM, and watched momentarily as female fighter Johanna Julaton sparred.
"Halos andami nanuod kasi. Maganda pala sa personal yang babae na yan at seksi," the source said.
Penalosa, who was down to 124 lbs yesterday, and Gabi then started working out with Roach supervising them. Penalosa then did 12 rounds of mitts with his brother Carl Jr holding them for him while Eric Brown held mitts for Gabi also for 12 rounds.
