PETALCORIN?S CAMP TO FILE FORMAL COMPLAINT TO WBC By Lito delos Reyes PhilBoxing.com Sat, 16 Apr 2016 THE camp of Randy ?Razor? Petalcorin, who lost by a controversial split decision to Omari ?Lion Boy? Kimweri in their championship fight for the vacant WBC Silver flyweight title last Friday in Australia will file a formal protest today to the World Boxing Council against the referee and two judges. This was bared by Petalcorin?s younger manager Jim Claude Manangquil, chief executive officer of Sanman Promotions from General Santos City. In his text message, Manangquil said: ?We?re both shocked and disgusted about the decision. Horrible for boxing. We will protest about this.? Manangquil said he and his co-manager Peter Maniatis of Australia will send their formal complaint to WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman of Mexico. They are disgusted on how Australian-naturalized citizen referee Malcom Bulmer handled the 12-round title fight. Burner did not acknowledge the four knock downs made by Petalcorin on Kimweri during their exciting bout held at the Melbourne Pavillion in Victoria. Burner?s wife Samantha, also one of the three judges, scored it 115-112 in favor of Kimweri while the other judge submitted the same scores for the former Tanzanian boxer. The third judge had it 114-113 for Petalcorin, who first decked Kimweri with a left cross in the 6th round but the referee called it only as a slip. The second knockdown was when Kimweri helplessly sat on the ropes as Petalcorin bombarded him with left-right combinations. Bulmer again did not call it a knockdown. After a few seconds, Kimweri was again downed at the ropes. But still no knockdown according to the referee. In the 12th and final round, Petalcorin landed another left. Bulmer again still did not call it a knockdown. ?Randy knocked down Kimweri 4 times. The ref didn?t even bother to count. Very disgraceful this is horrible for the sport,? said Manangquil in a text message after the fight. He said that ?Petalcorin is discouraged and is very upset.? In his Facebook account, Petalcorin said: ?That? how the fights are here. If you can?t kill your opponent, you can?t win?. ?I hope someone does something to correct this because it?s killing the sport and the boxers. The referee (Malcolm Bulner) was clearly biased,? Manangquil said. He said that ?everybody can see the replay and watch all of those knockdowns. Clearly bad officiating from the judges and referee.? It was Petalcorin?s first bout since stopping Ma Yi Ming in one round in Beijing last April 24, 2015 to defend his WBA Interim world light flyweight title. A short video posted on social media clearly showed the knockdowns that were either ruled a slip or were not ruled as knockdowns. The title-fight was supervised by Frank Quill and promoted by Brian Amatruda and the Hickory Group. A possible rematch will also be workout. ?
