PhilBoxing.com

PORT HUENEME, CA -- Saturday night at the Oceanview Pavilion in this city made popular by the US Navy SeaBees, Francisco Santana of Santa Barbara, CA (24-4-1, 12KO) displayed his rapid fire and non stop aggression to beat the slow footed Ed Paredes of Pembrook Pines Florida (36-6-1, 24KO). Santana was so relentless that Paredes never got a chance to catch up with him although he landed a few nice shots, albeit too far in between. The scores were all 100-90 (top photo).

In supporting main event, Luis Ramos of Santa Ana, CA (26-2-0, 10KO) won via an exciting phone booth type humdinger over the very willing and tough opponent in Cristobal Cruz of Tijuana, MX. (40-2-4,4KO. Ramos dropped the wily veteran early in round 6 but the Tijuana native used all his experiences in the ring to regain his composure and continue on to fight in the slugfest.
