NBA -- Wizardy or just a puff of smoke?
By Nico R. Occidental PhilBoxing.com Fri, 20 Nov 2015

WASHINGTON -- At first glance, the Washington Wizards record of 5-4 looks like a budding playoff team. With the main core producing, and the bench contributing, the "Wiz Kids" appear to have a bright and promising season.
Still, the biggest strength of these Wizards is the awesome-twosome of guards John Wall and Bradley Beal.
Many will argue that the duo from the Bay area are head and shoulders above the rest. With the numbers Wall and Beal are providing, saying they are the best combo is the league is not farfetched.
Beal, a University of Florida alum, is averaging 22.7 points and 4.8 rebounds thus far. He has adjusted to the NBA speed and has took full advantage of it. He has shown his full array of skills and repertoire and is looking like an All-star early in the game.
The all-star John Wall is right behind with 17.6 points and 8.6 assists per game through nine games .
Forward Otto Porter and center Marcin Gortat will be gargantuan in securing a playoff seed. Gortat averaged a double-double and was ranked third in field goal percentage last season. If he can mirror that of last year, they will be in good hands.
Porter, a Hoya alum, will have to work on his consistency at the third option. He will be monumental in filling the huge hole Paul Pierce left DC when he departed. The small forward will need to enrich the Wizards team with his quality of play. Its a young season and only time can tell if the the team from the nations capitol will be contending for the chip.
From what we have seen on paper, they will be one of the favorites to compete for the Easten Conference supremacy.
