SOTO PRAISES BOBBY PACQUIAO
By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Mon, 11 Jun 2007

Humberto Soto who took one step closer to a possible showdown with “Fighter of the Year” Manny Pacquiao by scoring a seventh round knockout over younger brother Bobby Pacquiao paid tribute to his opponent after the action-packed crowd pleaser at Madison Square Garden.
Soto told Dan Rafael of ESPN that Bobby Pacquiao “is a real warrior.” However, the tough Mexican who is expected to be named the mandatory super featherweight challenger to reigning champion Juan Manuel Marquez said that Manny Pacquiao “is much busier, throws a lot more punches and hits harder.”
In fact well-known TV boxing analyst and an original Team Pacquiao member Moy Lainez who followed the action on Solar Sports telecast over RPN 9 said the fact that Pacquiao was able to stagger Soto twice in round four showed that he “wont be able to handle the power of Manny”.
Lainez said “not only does Manny hit much harder than Bobby, he is also much quicker and moves well.” Lainez noted that Soto also leaves himself open pointing out that “if Bobby Pacquiao can catch him Manny can do it easily.” Lainez predicted that if Soto and Pacquiao meet, the devastating puncher from General Santos City will “win by a KO anytime he wants.”
Lainez commended Bobby Pacquiao for a courageous effort and agreed totally with trainer Freddie Roach who said “I thought Bobby fought very bravely. H caught Soto with a couple of good shots and hurt him but Soto was much too strong for Bobby.”
Pacquiao earned the biggest purse of his career, a cool $135,000 while Soto was paid $150,00o according to Dan Rafael.
